Forensics Builds the Library

That same year, Oregon’s debaters made an extraordinary contribution. They purchased the defunct Eugene City Library and donated its collection to the university. Those shelves of books became the foundation of the University of Oregon’s first library. Debate didn’t just sharpen minds — it literally built the intellectual infrastructure of the school.
